The PCRG/VPWG paperwork has been submitted by Terry Doloughty – let the waiting begin! Now that the paperwork has been submitted to the PCRG, we are ready to move into an extended planning phase, as the VPWG process may be long and drawn out.
Two quick notes from the green drinks social two weeks ago
1) PPG makes 'Olympic' brand paint which is "No VOC" (Waiting on networking contact)
2) Met with the guys from Construction Junction coordinating the recycling and compositing effort at the Pittsburgh Arts Festival (on the non-union side) Details Here.
There seems to be no let up in national news or local news coverage:

Tom Fallon got back in touch with me today. He has been preoccupied with some turbulence within his business partnership. We're hoping to get back in touch after Monday 06/16/08. Maybe in the early morning for breakfast.
Terry Doloughty is required to submit all paperwork for 329 Hancock St. to VPWG/PCRG by 07/03/2008, and I would like to have a 4-page summary document including a fact-sheet, preliminary budget, 2d floor plan, and 3D rendering included. ~BAS
I've been working with 3D Home Architect to render an interior design for 329 Hancock St. You can see an early draft here and here
The URA recommends that I begin to research the property for liens. CARC (Capital Asset Research Group -- A DBA name apparently) -- http://www.carc.com/ No after hours voice mail and a really bad web site -- doesn't install a lot of confidence. Apparently they have some in with the local municipalities, county and city governments. Gotta run. ~BAS
I had a sneak peak at the PCRG's VPWG application for the Land Bank transfer to CCGs. It seems pretty straightforward. The document was ~32 pages, maybe 5-10 of which must be completed. It is due by July 3rd, 2008. Should be sufficient time to assemble a comprehensive proposal for Hancock St. ~BAS
Josh from MKA sent me back the formal assessment (PDF) from last week's early morning meeting. The quick synopsis outlines for major points: 1) Replace the existing I-Beam on the Northeast side 2) Add a second I-Beam on the Southeast end (Engineered wood or steel) 3) Be prepared to replace as much as 40% of the structural joists due to water damage 4) Use a trussed roof to alleviate load on internal load bearing walls (allowing for an "open" loft style design).
About two blocks from 329 Hancock, allowing me to keep a close eye on progress:
